Waikiki Beach Restoration

Kyo-ya contributed $500,000 to the Department of Land and Natural Resources' recently completed beach nourishment plan to restore 1,700 feet of Waikiki shoreline extending between Kuhio Beach and The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort. The project, which was completed in April 2012, restored tens of thousands of cubic feet of sand to the shoreline, adding nearly 40 feet of width to the beach and making it more enjoyable for visitors and residents alike.

The beach replenishment project was made possible through a public-private partnership between Kyo-ya, the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources.

Kyo-ya has pledged to contribute an additional $50,000 for future beach improvements.
